Detail
An extensive portrait of the United States seen through the eyes of a French photographer. The retrospective features the work of Laffont from his arrival in New York in 1965 until the end of the eighties, a long period when he covered the social, political and cultural aspects of the United States: the explosion of the sexual revolution, civil rights movement and the consequence of an assault on the freedom of speech. This body of work from the photographer’s private archive provides a glimpse of the great political issues of the time and shows the birth of 21st-century America.
